MMHA Tournament 2016
Submitted By MMHA on Wednesday, November 23, 2016
I would like to thank all the teams that came out to support our Mariposa Minor Hockey tournament this weekend.

It was an exciting weekend with our Mariposa Novice team making it to the finals beating out West London 5-2 in the semi-finals but coming up a bit short with a 2-0 loss against Woodville in the finals.

The Atom White team lost 5-1 against Oro in the semi-finals who then went on to play Lindsay in the finals where Lindsay won 9-1.

The Bantam "B" championship game went to Orono where they beat Northumberland 2-1.

The Bantam "A" championship went to Lindsay when they beat their neighbours, Kawartha in a 5-1 final.

The Peewee "C" finalist was our Mariposa White team! They almost came back to win the game against East Gwillimbury but time ran out and it ended 5-3.

The Peewee "B" championship went to our Mariposa Blue team in a nail biter of a game where they ended up with the win against Durham 4-3!

The Peewee "A" championship was an exciting game to watch with our timbits cheering hard at the door! Nepean claimed the win against Lindsay 1-0 but it took till the 6th player in the shoot out to get the job done. What a way to end the tournament!

I would like to thank Jeff Britton for designing the tournament T shirts.  Much appreciation to Lisa Roddy, Brad Vokins, Danielle Edwards and many others!  The weekend wouldn't have been the success it was without the generosity of all that helped out.

Thank you everyone!

Stacie Vokins
MMHA Tournament Coordinator
